Tag Team Match Added To Deadlock Pro Wrestling: Victory Lap
New independent wrestling promotion DPW, ran by the hosts of the DEADLOCK podcast, has a show in Raleigh, North Carolina on the 17th of September. So far, the card includes bouts such as Jay Malachi vs Bojack and talents such as former STARDOM star Jungle Kyona. Jack Evans will also team with Andrew Everett on the show as the take on SB Kento and Shun Skywalker. Joining the aforementioned talents will be two of the teams on the independent scene.
Violence is Forever, the team of Dom Garrini and Kevin Ku, have been teaming together since 2018 whehn they debuted in Nova Pro Project as Sadkampf. A staple of Beyond Wrestling, they’ve also teamed in a number of major independents such as C4, MLW and Black Label Pro, with whom they’ve held the BLP Tag Team Championships for 677 days and counting. The duo have held the SUP Tag Team Championships for well over 1,000 days with victories over teams such as Suplex Science, Exotic Youth and They Might Be Giants.
Meanwhile, their opponents are The WorkHorsemen. Anthony Henry and JD Drake defeated Shawn Kemp and Chase Holliday at DPW’s Showdown in the Carolinas in their first DPW victory. However, the combination has experience all over, including in both AEW and New Japan in recent weeks. This year alone, the duo have challenge The Briscoes for the ROH World Tag Team Championships, wrestled The Blackpool Combat Club and scored a victory over the tag stylings of Mike Bailey and Davey Richards. They were Freelance Tag Team Champions for 427 days and former EVOLVE Tag Team Champions after defeating CatchPoint at EVOLVE 88.
The most recent meeting between these two teams was in January of 2021 when The WorkHorsemen picked up the victory at ACTION Wrestling. Overall, the teams are 2-2 lifetime against each other dating back to February 2019. The most memorable contest was won by Violence is Forever as they won 9 falls to 8 in a 30 minute ironman match at BLP Slamilton 2.
