The long awaited match between the Fallen Goddess and Jade Cargill is set for AEW All Out.
Athena and Cargill have been embroiled in a feud since Athena debuted at Double Or Nothing earlier this year. There have been several teases between the pair as they have built to this match and now Athena will look to end Cargill’s winning streak and become the second ever AEW TBS Champion.
On the August 26 episode of AEW Rampage, Cargill cut a promo backstage and told Athena to “get these hands” at AEW All Out. The latter blindsided the champion with an attack and seemingly accepted the challenge in the process. The broadcast team subsequently confirmed the match for the pay-per-view.
The rivalry reached a new level on the August 19 episode of AEW Rampage when Cargill attacked Athena with a sledgehammer.
