Tony Khan Asks Top AEW Official To “Tighten Up” AEW Refereeing Starting With Grand Slam Rampage

Tony Khan hears fan’s comments on refereeing in AEW as of late.

It looks like Tony Khan wants refereeing to be better going forward in AEW just as fans do. At AEW Grand Slam on Wednesday night, there were several matches where the referee’s missed heels cheating to win on several occasion as well as Billy Gunn’s attack on Swerve Strickland.

Khan took to Twitter on Thursday and congratulated AEW referee Paul Turner for refereeing 100 AEW main events. Khan also noted that he has asked Turner to tighten up refereeing in AEW.

As Senior Official, Paul manages our refs, who do great work, but missed some illegalities in the first few bouts last night

I know we can count on Paul, I’m asking him to tighten it up, starting tomorrow on #AEWRampage!

Time will tell if this will be changed but for now, Khan is focused on fixing the issues in the refereeing department of AEW.
