Top UFC Star Calls Out WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar
Following his spectacular knockout at UFC 217 last Saturday Night of Alistair Overeem, Francis Ngannou is set to be the next fighter in line to challenge Stipe Miocic for the UFC Heavyweight Title; However, that is not the fight he wants most. Ngannou recently was a guest on the Top Turtle MMA Podcast and said that his dream match would be against former UFC Heavyweight Champion and current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar. Ngannou called out Lesnar, claiming to be stronger than the WWE Universal Champ.
As you may know Lesnar was suspended from the UFC for one year following his victory over Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in July 2016 after testing positive twice for clomiphene that month. He would have been eligible to return to the UFC on July 15, 2017, but his suspension was frozen in February 2017 when he announced his retirement from the UFC. If Lesnar was to return to the Octagon he would first have to finish serving the remaining 5 months of his suspension.
Ngannou commented on his wish to fight Brock Lesnar, saying:
“I’d always like to see the match between me and Brock Lesnar. Two big dudes. I like that matchup. I’m excited for that kind of match as a fan. … I want to see that match. He’s big. Huge, as you say. But he’s not stronger than me. I’m stronger than him. I’m the best striker in the heavyweight division and the more powerful guy. I’m also a talented guy and I will deal with that very easy.”
