WWE Placing Restrictions On Shinsuke Nakamura vs The Great Muta Match
WWE are not letting Nakamura wrestle in NOAH without restrictions.
It was recently announced that Shinsuke Nakamura will square off against The Great Muta at the NOAH The New Year show on January 1st, 2023. According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that WWE will be placing restrictions on Nakamura’s upcoming huge match.
“WWE is allowing Shinsuke Nakamura to wrestle Muta on the 1/1 Pro Wrestling NOAH show at Budokan Hall. It’s notable they are allowing him not only to wrestle but for NOAH to stream the show live on Abema. There is a precedent in the sense that WWE allowed KENTA to compete on a NOAH show on September 1, 2018, while under contract with them, but generally this hasn’t been allowed.”
“There are restrictions made regarding NOAH promoting the event outside Japan and in English. NOAH is allowed to do the promo video and match graphic which was released, and press releases with his name in it, but there are other restrictions in place including not being allowed to mention WWE anywhere else.”

We will have to wait and see how the match will turn out to be. Time will tell how the match will be promoted and if WWE will add additional restrictions.
