The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer is reporting that there are no plans for WWE to build towards a Daniel Bryan vs. Shane McMahon matchup. Even though the two are currently feuding on SmackDown Live, there will not be a pay-off match at the end. The reason for this is that Daniel Bryan has still not been cleared to return to active competition. Meltzer adds that it has been made clear to Bryan by Vince himself, that the final decision on his medical clearance will come solely from Dr. Joseph Maroon.
Meltzer did however say that if in fact Daniel Bryan is ever cleared for action, that there has been talk internally about him wrestling at next year’s SummerSlam, and then on a limited schedule afterwards.
