Disco Inferno Calls PWG A “Typical Indy Shit Show”
Look out, the fun police is in town!
PWG held their Battle Of Los Angeles tournament this weekend, which was packed with surprises such as Eddie Kingston making a commentary appearance, Chris Jericho and the Jericho Appreciation Society debuting in a tag team match and Speedball Mike Bailey winning the whole damn thing. But of course, when fans are having fun and popular things are trending, Disco Inferno aka Glen Gilbertti has to throw his two negative cents into the conversation. Disco took to Twitter late Monday morning to ask why PWG is looked at as important, then went on to call it a typical Indy shit show. He then replied to a comment to say that the PWG fans look like people you would not want to be within six feet of.
PWG was often a place WWE looked at to bring in talent to the performance center. Several times in the past, William Regal as apart of WWE’s team was sent to PWG to scout talent such as The Undisputed Era, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Ricochet and many more. PWG was also the place that Marina Shafir, Jessamyn Duke, Shayna Baszler and Ronda Rousey raved about, saying it helped make them want to get into wrestling. In more recent times, now that AEW is around, they’ve used PWG since Excalibur helps run the events. PWG is a hotbed where all the best talented independent wrestlers go to work and potentially be named “next up.” But, Disco would know nothing about talent or being scouted by WWE, so it makes sense that he wouldn’t understand.
