Bellator MMA will run another World Grand Prix in 2023.
Bellator President Scott Coker officially announced on Wednesday’s edition of The MMA Hour that the promotion will be holding an eight-man lightweight grand prix beginning on March 10 in San Jose, California, and unveiled the fighters that will be competing in the tournament.
Current Bellator lightweight champion, Usman Nurmagomedov, former featherweight champ, AJ McKee, former lightweight champ Patricky Pitbull, Benson Henderson, Alexander Shabliy, Mansour Barnaoui, Tofiq Musayev, and Sidney Outlaw make up the field.
The Orange County Register’s Brian Martin was the first to report that Nurmagomedov and Henderson will kick off the tournament in an opening-round matchup when the pair headlines Bellator 292 on March 10 at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
Additionally, Musayev and Shabliy will also meet in the quarter-finals and compete on the main card of the event, with Barnaoui and Outlaw set to collide on May 12 when Bellator returns to Paris, France.
