Kurt Angle Says He Was Once Planned To Have A Long WWE World Title Reign Like Roman Reigns
As Kurt Angle had such great popularity among the fans, WWE had big plans for Kurt Angle and the WWE Championship. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, WWE had to scrap plans they had in store for Kurt Angle.
At WrestleMania XIX, Brock Lesnar defeated Kurt Angle to become a two-time WWE Champion. It was originally planned for Kurt Angle to defend his title and go on to have a long title reign. In the new episode of The Kurt Angle Show, Angle spoke about the change of plans.
“I was supposed to have a nice long title reign for over a year. They were gonna keep that title on me and put the titles on Team Angle — the tag team titles — and have us doing what Roman Reigns and The Usos are doing right now. That’s what was planned.”

The plans for Kurt Angle had to be scrapped as he had suffered from a broken neck about a month before his title defense at WrestleMania. The unfortunate injury left WWE no choice but to go through a change of plans and bring about the second reign of the Beast Incarnate.
