Charlotte Flair Says Story With Rhea Ripley Is Worthy Of A WrestleMania Main Event
On the December 30th episode of Friday Night Smackdown, Ronda Rousey lost the Smackdown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair in a surprising outcome. This resulted in a controversial return for The Queen.
Rhea Ripley won the Women’s Royal Rumble match and earned the right to challenge for a main event title of her choosing. She would end up choosing Charlotte Flair as her WrestleMania 39 opponent.
While speaking with Kevin Raphaël and Pat Laprade on Les anti-pods de la lutte, Charlotte Flair talked about her upcoming match with Rhea Ripley. Flair made it clear that she believes the match is a main event-worthy and should main event WrestleMania 39.
“No, Rhea and I are main event quality. It’s a main event story, and I want to be in the main event with her because I know it’s going to be that good.”

The upcoming match marks the first-ever women’s one-on-one rematch in WrestleMania history. In 2020, Charlotte claimed victory at the Royal Rumble and went on to defeat Ripley at WrestleMania 36 to win the NXT Championship. We’ll have to see whether Ripley will be able to seek revenge against Flair for her loss three years prior.
