Those who follow me on social media know how close to my heart I have the Spanish wrestling scene and the amounts of times I’ve put over the scene every time I can, and will continue to do so. The Spanish wrestling scene is a very underrated scene, but with a lot of interesting talent from all parts of Spain, but there are four wrestlers in particular I believe have the potential to be major stars if given the right opportunities, and I nicknamed them the 4 Pillars of Spain.
It’s cliché by now to call any four interesting prospects in the world of wrestling with the moniker of Pillars (in reference to the 4 Pillars of Heaven of AJPW), but I truly believe they are worth of this moniker. These four wrestlers are so unique, and bring something unique. All four of the wrestlers I’ll talk about here are based in Madrid, and over the years have made a name for themselves on the Spanish scene, and by many are considered the top prospects the scene has to offer the world of wrestling.
Carlos Romo
Those who follow the American Indie scene will be familiar with his name, as he as wrestled in the US before. The best way to describe Carlos Romo is with Punk Rock, Carlos Romo inside a ring is Punk Rock, but this shouldn’t be surprising considering he is part of a band called Early Flights.
Carlos Romo’s greatest attribute is his ability to connect with crowds in the middle of matches and make them care about what’s happening inside a ring. Romo is also a pretty good highflyer and works pretty good off the ropes. Some of Romo’s best work always comes with him as an underdog babyface against all odds.
Javier Vives
Stong as a bear, and as fast as a Ferrari, that’s Javier Vives in a nutshell. Javier Vives is one of those wrestlers that impresses you the more you watch him wrestle, especially his speed inside a ring. Another great aspect of his in-ring work is his chops, he probably has the loudest chops of the Iberian Peninsula.
Vives’ ability to dominate matches with his strength is something to behold but another interesting aspect of his in-ring game is his ability to absorb damage in middle of matches and then outrun his opponents with his surprising speed, as previously mentioned.
Noah Striker
Noah Striker as his name indicates is an a pretty good striker and probably one of the best in the Iberian Peninsula. Inspired by the likes of Nigel McGuinness and Bryan Danielson; Noah Striker is a fantastic technical wrestler. Noah Striker also has some international experience, and working the Chikara’s Young Lions Cup XVI back in 2020.
Unfortunately, Noah Striker is injured and will be out of action for a period of time, but one thing is for certain, and that is that he will return stronger than ever and with hunger to win all championships in his reach. Hopefully he’ll have a speedy recovery and be back in no time to action.
Sara León
The progress the red lioness has made since her debut has been surprising but not unexpected for those who follow her career closely. As her nickname hints, Sara León inside a ring is like a hungry lioness destroying her prey piece by piece with her methodical and technical wrestling at her disposal. Sara León is a wrestler that keeps evolving and improving with each showing, and that makes her a hard opponent to face.
Sara León was recently in the US and impressed a lot of people with her showings in the American indie scene, and there’s no doubt she’ll return to the U.S. and win gold. It’s just a matter of time until she is called by a major promotion.
