WWE Changed WrestleMania Women’s Tag Titles Plans Quite Recently

WWE is on the road to WrestleMania, and they brought a loaded show for RAW this week. Becky Lynch and Lita were once rivals, but they teamed up to defeat the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Damage CTRL, and claim those titles. It turns out that this was not always the plan.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title change was not always in the company’s plan. Triple H had a different idea for WrestleMania, but it didn’t happen. Someone either changed his mind, or he came to that decision on his own. Either way, that plan was altered.

“This was not the WrestleMania match. This was a change in the last week or two. Someone, either Triple H changed his mind, or someone changed his mind. One way or the other.”

Dave Meltzer

The road to WrestleMania is always full of unexpected moments, and we could even see a title change along the way. It seems that this week’s title change wasn’t always in the plan, but it certainly made for a big moment this week.
