In 2001, WWE acquired its biggest competitor, World Championship Wrestling. This acquisition meant that many of WCW’s biggest stars had the opportunity to make their way to WWE. However, some of WWE’s established stars were apprehensive about the arrival of the new talent.
While speaking on The Kurt Angle Show, Kurt Angle revealed that The Undertaker was skeptical about WWE buying WCW. Angle said that while The Undertaker did not speak much about his concerns, it was clear that he had something on his mind.
”He didn’t really talk much about it, [but] you could tell there was something on his mind. He felt, ‘Oh boy, we might have some problems. The NWO is coming in.’ So, he wasn’t really that vocal about it, but, yeah, sceptical because with those guys in the past, I’m sure they had problems with him. But these guys came in and they had great attitudes. They were really trying to show that they were team players, so I think Undertaker kind of accepted them eventually.”

However, the WCW talent came into WWE with great attitudes and were eager to show that they were team players. The Undertaker eventually accepted them and worked alongside them. It’s worth noting that the NWO and other former WCW stars did not have a negative impact on The Undertaker’s career. In fact, he continued to thrive and became one of WWE’s most iconic stars.
