Booker T Supports The Idea Of Goldberg In AEW

Goldberg hasn’t been seen on WWE television since his loss at the hands of Roman Reigns during the 2022 Elimination Chamber premium live event. In fact, Goldberg is now officially a free agent after his WWE contract expired.

It is said that WWE did not negotiate a new contract with Goldberg, and he did not have any remaining matches on his deal. The news of his free agency has sparked rumors that he may be on his way to AEW.

While speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T weighed in on the possibility of the former Universal Champion joining AEW. The two-time WWE Hall of Famer stated that if AEW offers Goldberg the right amount of money to do something small and relatively safe, then he has every right to consider joining the company.

“If Goldberg’s contract [is expired] and he’s a free agent now, he can do whatever he wants. If Tony Khan wants to call him and offer him a big enough check for him to come in there and do something relatively small where he’s not gonna put himself in harm’s way, why not go pick it up? Why not? It’s just the name of the game.

That’s been the way the boys have approached a situation like that since day one. If we’ve got somebody out there like a Tony Khan that’s throwing money/checks around, put me on the list, let me go pick up one. That’s the way the business has always been.”

Goldberg has received interest from multiple companies after becoming a free agent. AEW President Tony Khan is also paying close attention to Goldberg’s free agent status. We’ll have to wait and see whether Goldberg will compete in AEW in the future.
