KAIRI Still Hopes To One Day Win The WWE Women’s Championship
KAIRI would love a second return to the WWE to achieve their goals.
Speaking with Steve Fall of WrestlingNewsCo, the former NXT Women’s Champion noted that not only does the WWE Universe still think of her fondly, but several wrestlers ask her if she’s coming back for the Royal Rumble every year.
KAIRI noted, through a translator, that competing in the Royal Rumble is something she wants to do.
“Even now, the WWE Universe, they love KAIRI. Even the wrestlers are like, ‘Oh you’re coming to Royal Rumble this year, right? You’re coming, right?’ It’s her favorite PPV of the whole year. She definitely wants to one day wrestle in the Royal Rumble.”
As for whether or not the door is open for her return, KAIRI said that Vince McMahon told her the door is always open for her to come back. If she were to return, KAIRI says that she would like to team up with Asuka again and possibly even team up with or wrestle IYO Sky.
“Vince said the door is always open, you’re always welcome to come back. If she comes back one day, she would love to team up with Asuka again, team up with IYO Sky, or maybe even go against IYO Sky. Who knows?”
Asked whether or not she felt a sense of accomplishment with her first run on the main roster, KAIRI stated that while she did enjoy being a WWE Tag Team Champion, she still would like to hold the singles gold on the main roster one day.
“It’s a little bit of her both. She didn’t [completely] accomplish what she wanted to do because she was in a WrestleMania title match, but on the other hand, she didn’t get a singles women’s belt, so that’s still maybe one thing she would like to get next time.”
Most recently, KAIRI wrestled Mercedes Mone, losing the IWGP Women’s Championship to her at NJPW Battle in the Valley.
