Some would say the people’s main event of WrestleMania weekend, the Intercontinental Championship match was a triple threat match with a lot of hype behind it. Titus O’Neil was on commentary for the match.
The crowd was invested from the opening bell, with Drew hitting a Claymore immediately on the champion sending him to the outside. As expected, there we chops a plenty, with three very bright red chests for the three men early on. Michael Cole would giggle with glee several times during the match, echoing the feelings of many fans.
After many finishers and even more near falls, the finish boiled down to a splash from Gunther, before he hit two powerbombs to both of the challengers before covering McIntyre to retain the Intercontinental Championship.
