Finally, the titles vs career match between The Gunns and FTR took place in the main event of this week’s AEW Dynamite with a lot on the line.
The match has been building for quite some time, and it left many fans unsure of what was to come when it was initially booked, but the match would deliver on the stage of Long Island. At one point, Paul Turner would not DQ The Gunns after Colten pulled the ref from the ring after The Shatter Machine. Austin would then low blow Dax, but again Paul Turner would not call the DQ.
After a title shot to the dome, Dax would still kick out of the resulting pinfall. The finish of the match would come as both Dax and Cash would hit sunset flips, double pinning The Gunns to win the titles.
After the match, Mark Briscoe would come down to the ring and celebrate with the new AEW Tag Team Champions.
