IMPACT Touts Josh Alexander As Longest Reigning Champion In Company History
On tonight’s IMPACT episode, Josh Alexander officially relinquished his IMPACT World Title belt, ending his reign at 348 days, and also making him the longest reigning champion in TNA/IMPACT history. Josh beat Jeff Jarrett’s 347 days as NwA/TNA World Champion from June 2, 2004-May 15, 2005.
On March 23rd, Josh Alexander announced that he was injured and had to have surgery on his torn bicep. The recovery time is extensive, so Josh decided he would come to an IMPACT weekly show and relinquish the title ahead of Rebellion, where a new champion would be crowned.
