During the 2023 Hall Of Fame ceremony, Ric Flair would make a speech inducting the legendary Great Muta into the Hall Of Fame.

However, Flair’s speech drew the ire of WWE as it was reported the company was not happy with Flair’s speech and now it appears we know why.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Flair went rogue and did not read from the teleprompter that contained the planned speeches for all the inductors. Flair would also comment on WWE not liking the speech on a recent episode of his podcast.

“I don’t know what they didn’t like about it. You have to remember that 99% of the people in attendance in that building don’t even know who Muta is. Does it make sense? They haven’t performed [against him], well the wrestling people do but I’m saying the audience.”

Of course, it was not too bad of a scenario clearly, as Flair has still stood behind the returning Vince McMahon as he has been involved in the sale of the company.
