CM Punk Has Told AEW He Would Like To Return, Open To Working With The Elite
CM Punk is ready to make his return to All Elite Wrestling and get back to work.
Back at AEW All Out, CM Punk would go off on several stars in an AEW media scrum that every fan has heard about. After the scrum, the AEW All Out Brawl would take place with both Punk and The Elite being suspended by the company.
Now, it appears that CM Punk is now ready to make his return to AEW, expressing his desire to return to the company and even noting he would like to face off with The Elite, should they share that interest, per Figthful Select.
Fightful Select has reported numerous times on Punk “still having the wrestling bug,” in addition to Steve Kiern’s book making him miss wrestling, but we’ve learned that Punk has communicated repeatedly to AEW he wants to come back. Select learned that Punk has laid out numerous scenarios in which he’d return. Among those includes a willingness to work with Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks. However, we’ve heard that at least as of a few months ago, Omega and Bucks didn’t seem keen on doing that, for obvious reasons. We’re not sure if that’s changed as AEW has progressed on landing new deals with them. Punk has also expressed his willingness to return to work for All Elite Wrestling and keep completely separate from the Elite along the way. There were some talent that were of the belief that the rumored upcoming Saturday AEW show could be used to help facilitate that with some separation to the AEW roster, but that’s not something higher ups in AEW have confirmed to us. In addition, we’re told Punk has been open to working elsewhere, though we’re not sure if that means within the auspices of AEW such as Ring of Honor, or the likes of WWE and NJPW. Dax Harwood has been pushing the idea of CMFTR vs. The Elite for All In at Wembley, but we haven’t heard if there has been any specific progression on that. Dax did say during our recent interview that he’s in constant contact with Punk.

We will have to wait and see when Punk will return to the company, but for now it appears he remains indifferent about working with The Elite, should they not want to.
