Adam Cole knew he would one day go one on one with Chris Jericho from the day he signed with AEW.
At AEW All Out 2021, Adam Cole made his shocking AEW debut along with Bryan Danielson on a legendary night for AEW debuts.
Since then, Cole has dealt with some serious injuries but has returned from them strong and is currently feuding with Chris Jericho.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Cole discussed his return to the ring, which came with a face turn for the former NXT Champion.
“It’s been an interesting transition. I’ve played the vile, despicable heel for so long. But coming out of this injury, and being able to get back in the ring and wrestle again, it feels like such a natural fit to be the babyface. It’s a challenge I need, and I’m enjoying it a lot,”

Cole would then go on to discuss his feud with Jericho, noting that from the day he step foot into AEW he knew he would one day face off with The Ocho.
“Throughout my career, I’ve always said my goal is to be the world champion. I want to be AEW world champion. But at this point, I have a whole new appreciation for this job. Every single week, I get on an airplane and go to a show. I’m so thankful for that. Wherever else that lands me is icing on the cake. My goal is to keep wrestling for a long time. This is me. I’m back where I belong,”

Most recently, Jericho orchestrated a brutal beatdown of Cole’s girlfriend Britt Baker at the hands of The Outcasts, which saw Cole handcuffed during the beating. We will have to wait and see how this angle develops in the coming weeks.
