Downstait’s Zack Clarifies Cody Rhodes’ Theme; Says It Haunts Him
Zack Call from the band Downstait recently revealed the “Woah” in Cody Rhodes’ theme song.
Since returning to WWE in 2022, Cody has seen great things from winning the 2023 Royal Rumble and to headlining WWE WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reigns. He began his stardom (no pun intended) after leaving the company in 2016, Rhodes at the time debuted a new theme “Kingdom” by Downstait during his journey going from company to company. Since that time, the entrance theme has become quite popular among fans.
Zack Call recently sat down with Tom Campbell on Cultaholic Wrestling’s Desert Island Graps. The Downstait vocalist revealed that while writing the infamous theme song that he never came up with the famous “woah.” He then explained.
When Call was asked if the ‘woah’ was sarcastic, Call noted that it kind of was. He went on to explain that were trying to insert Easter eggs into the song, and the ‘woah’ was an example of that. Call went on to say that he had no idea it would become as popular as it did but it’s in place in the song was intentional.
Cody Rhodes is currently scheduled to face Brock Lesnar at WWE Night of Champions.
