AEW Want STARDOM Talent To Face Toni Storm At Forbidden Door
AEW are looking to make STARDOM a part of NJPW x AEW Forbidden Door later this month.
STARDOM are the top women’s promotion in the world and are incredibly respected in Japan for their ability. However, they were absent from last year’s Forbidden Door event, despite rumors suggesting Thunder Rosa was scheduled to face a STARDOM talent on the weekend.
Fightful Select now reports that AEW are attempting to bring in a STARDOM talent to challenge Toni Storm for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Fightful Select has learned that Stardom and All Elite Wrestling have had conversations about the possibility of integrating Stardom talent into the highly anticipated Forbidden Door show. Those that we’ve spoken to from both sides indicated there have been some hurdles, but specifically Toni Storm was mentioned as a name for a Stardom talent to face. We’ve been told that one of the main talking points is what Stardom talent would be available, as the company has their own show that same weekend. There have been discussions as to how to make it work, and it has been indicated to Fightful that it’s something All Elite Wrestling is hoping to make happen if they can pull it off. We’ve also since learned that there were conversations with Stardom in 2022 for a similar booking. In the end, Thunder Rosa ended up facing Toni Storm instead.

Toni Storm is currently scheduled to face the winner of a fatal four way match from tonight’s Rampage on next week’s Dynamite.
This will be Storm’s first defense of the AEW Women’s World Title since winning it back at AEW Double Or Nothing.
