Anthony Bowens’ “I’m Gay” Segment On AEW Rampage Was Put Together By QT Marshall And Billy Gunn
More on how Anthony Bowens’ proclamation segment went down.
On AEW Rampage this week, QTV confronted The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass, with Haley Cameron assuming Anthony Bowens found her attractive. However, Bowens would let her know that he is in fact gay to a large pop from the crowd.
Fightful Select have provided more information on the segment including how the idea came together. The segment was also originally set for this week’s AEW Dynamite, but was pushed to Rampage instead.
We’ve learned some more about the angle, which also featured QTV, Harley Cameron, Max Caster and Billy Gunn. The segment saw Harley Cameron hitting on Anthony Bowens before he proclaimed he was gay. We’re told the segment was largely put together by Billy Gunn and QT Marshall. Marshall had spoken with Anthony Bowens about proclaiming he was gay if he was comfortable with doing so, and Bowens was all for it. At one point, the segment was scheduled for Dynamite, as The Acclaimed had mentioned that they would be on the show. However, we’re told that it was moved to Rampage to give it the time that it needed.
