Two NJPW names are not locked down to contracts with the promotion.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that both El Desperado and Minoru Suzuki are working with the promotion without deals. Desperado was part of the Spanish commentary team at Forbidden Door, while Minoru Suzuki competed alongside Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara to take on Naito, Sting and Darby Allin.
The reason El Desperado’s name pops up on a lot of indie shows is because he didn’t sign a contract with NJPW for this year. Desperado and Minoru Suzuki work NJPW, but are not under contract with the promotion

We will have to wait and see if New Japan will lock down the pair but for now they will remain working without a contract.
