SmackDown set a new record for Madison Square Garden last night.
The show took place last night with a raucous crowd on hand for the event which kicked off the blue brands build to SummerSlam at the beginning of next month.
In a tweet after the show, WWE thanked the fans and announced that the July 7 episode of WWE SmackDown was the highest-grossing WWE event ever at Madison Square Garden, which has hosted WrestleMania three times. WWE also announced that the show was the highest-grossing domestic edition of SmackDown in WWE’s history.
