Gunther has become the third longest reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion of all time.
Gunther, who captured the championship from Ricochet over 400 days ago, has defended against some of the best in WWE, defeating Sheamus, Matt Riddle, Mustafa Ali and more with the title on the line.
Gunther has now held the championship for 414 days, surpassing Randy Savage and becoming the third longest reigning champion of all time and will become the second longest reigning champion in just 11 days.
Gunther will become the longest reigning Intercontinental Champion in forty days, should he be able to retain his title at next week’s SummerSlam event when he takes on Drew McIntyre.
