Dakota Kai won’t be cleared for the foreseeable future, despite reappearing on WWE programming.
At SummerSlam, IYO SKY cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase to become the WWE Women’s Champion and Dakota Kai was present after an incredible journey to make the event in time.
This appearance from Kai would bleed into last Friday’s SmackDown where she would be present as Damage CTRL laid out Asuka and Charlotte Flair, re-establishing their dominance over the SmackDown women’s roster.
While speaking during a Twitch stream, Dakota Kai talked about her health after her Smackdown appearance, noting that she still has a long way to go before she will return to the ring for WWE.
“There’s a misconception with me being on SmackDown. I’m not healed. You’ll probably notice that I’m not really involved with anything that requires ‘activity.’ Let’s put it that way. I still have just under six months to go before I’m actually cleared.”

We will have to wait and see when Dakota will make her return to the ring, but it looks like at minimum, we will have to wait until early 2024 before Kai recovers from her knee injury.
