Kaito Kiyomiya Says His Disappointing G1 Performance Was Really Frustrating But He Has No Regrets

Pro Wrestling NOAH megastar Kaito Kiyomiya participated in his first NJPW G1 Climax this year with full intention of winning the tournament and challenging IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA. Unfortunately, Kiyomiya ended up with a disappointing finish to the G1 as he wound up with 2 wins, 3 losses and 2 draws which gave him a total of 6 pts in the A Block standings. He failed to make it to the quarterfinal knockout stage.

Kiyomiya spoke with Tokyo Sports and discussed his frustrating with his G1 performance:

It’s really frustrating, because I came here with the goal of winning. I have no regrets at all. I have gained a lot. I want to return and show you a different me. I want to continue aiming to be the main character without wavering.

Kiyomiya also commented on his desired goal to expand and promote Pro Wrestling NOAH:

I was able to feel what I was missing in order to expand Noah. I want to show what exactly it is in fighting in Noah’s ring. There is no difference in Professional Wrestling, I thought it was the same thing that I do. I want to spread Noah, so if there is another chance, I’m ready to appear at any time. But, first of all I think that I have to look in front of me.

On Kenoh criticizing him for the poor G1 showing:

I have my thoughts, but it would be rude to cut in and say something while everyone was concentrating on the N-1.

Kaito Kiyomiya makes his return to Pro wrestling NOAH on August 19th as he teams with Eita and HAYATA as they face Yoshinari Ogawa, LEONA and Stallion Rogers.
