Full Lineup For AJPW Royal Road Tournament Opening Night (8/19/2023)
The All Japan Pro-Wrestling annual Royal Road Tournament is set to get under way on August 19th at the famed Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan. The tournament is scheduled to run through August 27th with the winner earning a shot at the AJPW Triple Crown Championship currently held by Yuma Aoyagi.
The Royal Road Tournament is a single elimination tournament which is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary. Kento Miyahara was last year’s Royal Road Tournament winner.
The 16 participants in this years AJPW Royal Road Tournament are as follows:
- Kento Miyahara
- Yuma Aoyagi
- Suwama
- Shuji Ishikawa
- Satoshi Kojima (NJPW)
- Ryuki Honda
- Hokuto Omori
- Atsuki Aoyagi
- Dan Tamura
- Jun Saito
- Rei Saito
- Hayato Tamura (GLEAT)
- Takuya Nomura (Big Japan Pro Wrestling)
- Kotaro Suzuki
- Fuminori Abe
- Ren Ayabe
In addition to the first four Royal Road Tournaments matches, the AJPW World Tag Team Titles will be on the line as the current champions Kento Miyahara & Yuma Aoyagi will defend against NJPW legend Yuji Nagata and his partner Ryuki Honda.
- Main Event: AJPW World Tag Team Championship: Kento Miyahara & Yuma Aoyagi (c) vs. Yuji Nagata & Ryuki Honda
- Royal Road Tournament 1st Round: Shuji Ishikawa vs Ren Ayabe
- Royal Road Tournament 1st Round: Satoshi Kojima vs. Rei Saito
- Royal Road Tournament 1st Round: Hokuto Omori vs. Takuya Nomura
- Royal Road Tournament 1st Round: Dan Tamura vs Kotaro Suzuki
