DDT Pro-Wrestling star MAO will miss a few events due to an injured cheekbone. It was initially thought that he had fractured his cheekbone but after a diagnosis, it was revealed that he is suffering from traumatic TMJ arthritis.
MAO was originally scheduled for DDT Pro’s August 27th show at Korakuen Hall but was removed from the event. According to DDT Pro, he will be out until the September 9th DDT BIG BANG 2023 event at the Ota City General Gymnasium.
MAO commented on social media and posted a picture of his injured cheek:
As a result of the diagnosis, the mandible and cheekbones were safe! I was swollen for a while and thought that this was no good. It’s dangerous to play when you can’t close your mouth and clench your teeth, so I’m going to take a little break. I will do my best again from 9.9 Ota Ward!
MAO’s last appearance was on August 20th at NJPW x IMPACT Multiverse United 2 in which he took part in an eight man scramble match.
