The Rock Is Reportedly Believed To Have Two Key Reasons For Interest In WrestleMania 40 Match With Roman Reigns

The Rock is reported to have two key reasons for interest in a WrestleMania 40 return.

On this past Friday’s SmackDown, The Rock would make his explosive return to the WWE to confront Austin Theory.

In the segment, The Rock would verbally eviscerate Theory, leading a round of “you are an asshole” chants that lasted quite a while, leading to Pat McAfee remarking that the show is only two hours.

The segment went around twenty minutes and was a last minute addition to the show.

Before this return, he would speak on The Pat McAfee show, where he discussed the rumored plan for him to face Roman Reigns at this years WrestleMania, while he also confirmed he has interest in competing at WrestleMania 40.

Ringside News enquired where The Rock’s motivation lies for a WrestleMania 40 bout, and got several reasons in response. One was that The Rock had something to prove in Philadelphia and two others regarding the huge event next April.

We were told that it could have “a lot more to do with Roman Reigns being at the height of the business, and Rock knows he’d get great work with Roman and Heyman and Bloodline members.” The fact that WrestleMania 40 will be an important show, and “it’s first Endeavor-owned WrestleMania” could also play into things. In the end, there is a lot to unpack in that situation.

We will have to wait and see how things go down in the lead up to WrestleMania 40 and if we will finally get the huge spectacle that will be Roman Reigns vs The Rock.
