LA Knight was supposed to have a big spot in tonight’s show.
Right before the WWE Smackdown show started at 7PM, Fightful Select posted a “Smackdown Plans” rundown.
LA Knight is to be involved in the main event contract signing that involves John Cena, Solo SIkoa and Jimmy Uso. He’s slated to also compete in a dark match after the show.
Later in the night, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com posted another update.
Fightful Select updated the posted at 9:45 PM with the following information:
UPDATE: Regarding LA Knight, we’re told this was a medical change, not related to Vince McMahon. He was supposed to be involved in the main event segment. We’ve since confirmed that LA Knight tested positive for COVID and had to leave the building just before Smackdown
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful provided another update to the situation.
John Cena and Jimmy Uso signed the contract for the match at Fastlane, however, John Cena was left without a partner.
