Malakai Black Explains Why He’s Been Off AEW TV

Malakai Black explains why he hasn’t been on AEW television as of late.

Since The House Of Black lost the AEW Trios Championships to The Acclaimed and Daddy Ass at All In, the leader of the faction, Malakai Black has not been seen on AEW TV. Now we know why.

Malakai Black took to his Instagram story and uploaded a couple of videos, where he addressed his absence from AEW television.

”About a year ago, I made a video about rehabbing a back injury I had and the video shows the process and I talk about overcoming the injury, strengthing etc. After the video was posted, people started running with the idea that ‘Oh he has a bad back and therefore A, B and C,’ which is not the case at all.

For some reason it has found its way back and the narrative is ”Well, he’s not had singles matches because he has a bad back, he nearly retired because of it.” That’s not true. Why I haven’t had singles matches? I don’t know, I think it’s because they wanted us as The House of Black to do six-mans.

I was also not in six-mans to hide said non-existing injury. Again, rest assured I do not have a bad back. The reason why I’m at home right now is due to a minor injury, which is I had a slight calf tear and hyperextension in my knee, which is almost nursed back and almost ready to go back on the road. I appreciate the concern, but the reality is I’m soon. You will see me sooner rather than later.”

We will have to wait and see when Black will make his way back to AEW television.

While their leader is out of action, there is still one member of The House Of Black continuing their momentum. Julia Hart is currently scheduled to take on TBS Champion Kris Statlander at AEW WrestleDream this weekend.
