DDT Pro-Wrestling’s Saki Akai Comments On Her Final Match In Her Hometown Of Kyoto

DDT Pro-Wrestling star Saki Akai is set to retire from in ring competition on November 12th at DDT Pro’s Ultimate Party 2023 event. Akai will have her retirement match on that show against an opponent that yet to be determined.

Akai, who is from Kyoto, wrestled her last match in front of her hometown crowd on September 30th at the SAKI AKAI 10TH ANNIVERSARY & FINAL COUNT DOWN IN KYOTO! event. Akai teamed with Yukio Sakaguchi, & Hideki Okatani as they successfully defended their KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Titles by defeating challengers HARASHIMA, Masahiro Takanashi & Mei Suruga.

Saki Akai had these comments to the fans who sold out the Kyoto KBS Hall to witness her final match in her hometown:

This was my last triumphant return match in Kyoto, and I hope that DDT will continue to spread pro wrestling from Kyoto to the whole country and the world after I graduate! Mei Suruga is also a player that I have a deep affection for. I’m glad that we were able to face each other in Mei’s first triumphal return to Kyoto!
