Traci Brooks Talks Preparing For IMPACT1000, Returning To The Ring After Eleven Years
Traci Brooks returned to IMPACT Wrestling to be in her husband’s corner back in July for the IMPACT Slammiversary PPV, where she would take out the opposing female, Alisha Edwards, when Alisha attempted to interfere.
As the weeks and months progressed and Alisha Edwards became more and more of an issue, Traci decided to step back into the ring to team with her husband, Frankie Kazarian, to compete against Eddie Edwards and his wife, Alisha at the IMPACT1000 episode, which was taped o 9/9 and aired on 9/14.
In a new interview with WrestleZone, Gracia revealed that her and Traci Brooks are good friends, as they met because of the relationship between Kazarian and Sky.
“I met Traci a few years ago because Frankie Kazarian and my boyfriend, they’re like best friends. We had met at one of the pay-per-view weekends in Vegas and that was the first time I’d met her, and of course we had both heard so much about one another. I was like, ‘You were just sent to me because I needed someone like you.’ We both started wrestling late and we both moved far away from our families and we both fell in love with wrestlers. It’s like, I can learn something from this woman and she’s just become such a great friend that you can trust. If you just need to vent to somebody or complain or whatever, that’s been so cool and it’s like, it’s funny because when I first met her, she had no desire to wrestle at all, ever again.”
After spending over eleven years away from the ring, Brooks returned to the squared circle in September 2023, as she teamed with Kazarian in a mixed tag team bout against Eddie & Alisha Edwards. Gracia went on to detail how she helped Brooks get ready for the match.
“When she started preparing for the mixed tag, I feel like she still like herself, didn’t care to wrestle but she’s like, I wanted to do this for our son to see that. I’m like, that’s literally goals, seeing your parents together kicking butt — that’s going to be a memory he has for the rest of his life. I think that’s so cool she wanted to do this for him, to give him that. It was so fun training with her, I’m rusty, this and that and I’m like, you’re great, stop. Again, we all underestimate ourselves and I was like, you sell yourself so short now, it doesn’t matter how long it’s been, you pick it up just like you’re picking up a bike. That’s exactly what she did and she kicked butt, it was so cool her doing that and seeing it.”

Traci Brooks had some help with preparing for an in-ring return for the first time in 11 years. That help came in the form of one of her best friends, Alex Gracie, who is also the girlfriend of Frankie’s best friend and current AEW talent, Scorpio Sky.
Traci and Frankie defeated Eddie and Alisha at IMPACT1000, and then immediately following the match, Frankie surprised Traci with a video announcement that she is going to be inducted into the TNA/IMPACT Wrestling Hall of Fame this year, alongside icons Mike Tenay and Don West.
Traci will be inducted by the greatest Knockout in IMPACT Wrestling history, Gail Kim.
Traci is an original TNA Knockout, a group of women who changed women’s wrestling as we know it.
