Lyra Valkyria Felt Like Time Was Standing Still During Her NXT Women’s Title Match With Becky Lynch
Lyra Valkyria comments on capturing the NXT Women’s Title match.
In the main event of last night’s NXT, which served as night one of Halloween Havoc, Becky Lynch put her NXT Women’s Championship on the line against fellow Irish talent Lyra Valkyria, with Jade Cargill watching on.
In the end, Lyra was able to stack Lynch long enough for a surprise three count, dethroning “The Man” and winning her first championship in WWE.
In an NXT Digital Exclusive, Lyra commented on what the win meant to her, noting that she felt like time was standing still while she was in the ring.
“It doesn’t feel real. I really feel like I can’t put it into words. When I was out there, it felt like time was standing still, and everything connected. It just felt like everything I’ve worked for for nine years now all came together. I felt on top of the world because it felt like no decision I’ve ever made has been bad because it all led to this. I think that I would live my entire life again just to feel what I felt holding this title up out there. I think in what we do, we would work our whole careers in the hopes of feeling what I feel right now, even once. I think I’ll be living in that moment for another nine years. I can’t explain how good it feels right now to be your NXT Women’s Champion,”

We exclusively reported last night that Becky Lynch went into the matchup a little banged up, but it was not believed to be a factor in the decision for Lyra to become champion.
