AEW may have another reason for signing Ric Flair past his energy drink sponsorship.
Ric Flair is All Elite, as announced earlier today as “The Nature Boy” was announced as signing a new deal with the promotion.
This comes a week after Flair made his first appearance for the promotion, where he was gifted to Sting by Tony Khan as part of his upcoming retirement tour.
Fightful Select have now added some extra perspective to Flair’s signing with AEW, as sources noted it could be for merchandising purposes.
When asking AEW sources about the motivations of having Flair on the roster beyond what you see on the surface, merchandising was cited as a big possibility.

Flair was absent from this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.
We will have to wait and see how frequent his appearances will be under this new deal.
