WWE Prepared Talent To Answer Questions About CM Punk At Fastlane
WWE had prepared talent to talk about CM Punk at WWE Fastlane, but no questions came up.
At AEW All In, Punk was involved in yet another backstage altercation. However, this one would be different than those in the past in various ways. Namely, Punk not only fought with Jack Perry, he also reportedly lunged at AEW president Tony Khan while furiously quitting the company.
These events would leave Khan no other choice but to fire the Chicago native with cause, despite Punk’s drawing power and status as the companies “real world’s champion”. Punk has yet to comment on the matter in an official capacity.
Since his AEW exit, Punk has been rumored to be heading to WWE, despite WWE reportedly not being interested in signing the former WWE Champion.
That being said, with all the rumors going around prior to Fastlane about where Punk will end up next, WWE took steps to prepare talent in case they were asked about Punk, per Fightful Select. It was also noted Triple H was surprised he was not asked about Punk at the press conference following the show.
In the event that they were asked, both Triple H and a number of superstars were prepared to answer, and some stars were prepped on it.
Specifically Triple H was expecting to field questions about Punk that never got asked

Punk continues to be a major free agent on the wrestling scene following his AEW firing.
