High Spot Podcast Interviews Johnny Impact Before Bound For Glory – Comments On Chris Jericho Rumors, Talks Survivor, More
The following are excerpts from High Spot Podcast’s Interview with Johnny Impact, who challenges Austin Aries for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship this Sunday at Bound For Glory from the Melrose Ballroom in New York City, live on pay-per-view and on the Fite App!
High Spot Podcast- Did IMPACT Wrestling turn the chapter after the success of Slammiversary?
Johnny Impact- “There was certainly a negative connotation associated with IMPACT for a while. Slammiversary was acclaimed. I was stoked to come back and be part of that show, it was hot fire. The response that we’re getting now has been earned. People see how talented the roster is and how hard we’re working, it’s pretty cool to see the reaction that we’re getting.”
High Spot Podcast- What if Chris Jericho decides to make an IMPACT at Bound For Glory?
Johnny Impact- “Jericho certainly has a reputation for doing that kind of thing, if he did that it’d be great. Chris has a lot of street cred, anywhere he goes a lot of eyeballs follow him so to speak, so if he decided to make an impact on Sunday I think the locker room would be stoked, the fans would be stoked.”
High Spot Podcast- What did you learn about yourself that you didn’t know about until you were a cast member on “Survivor”
Johnny Impact- “Two things. First is that humans are capable of a lot more than people think. Freezing, starving, not eating, and not sleeping for a couple of days, not only did I think I might not be able to do that. I certainly thought that probably the other people on the island weren’t going to be able to do that either, but everyone did. There’s no fire there’s no food for the first couple of days, but everyone made it. Two, all the social media, the cell phones, emails, twitter accounts, and Instagram ultimately a lot less than your inner circle, your friends and family. When you out for the show you don’t get to take a phone, you’re unplugged basically for two months, the longest I’ve been without a phone since I got one. So when I came back it was one of the epiphanies I brought back with me.”
