WWE Drops Jey Uso’s “Yeet” Catchphrase Due To Trademark Issues
Looks like WWE Superstar Jey Uso is going to have to come up with a new catchphrase.
WWE Superstar Jey Uso had been getting over with the crowd by using the term “Yeet,” but it looks like he will no longer be able to use the word going forward. As we saw last night on WWE Monday Night RAW, it appears WWE has dropped “Yeet” from Jey Uso’s vocabulary. This also means that WWE has dropped all merchandise that included the term “Yeet,” which was previously available for purchase on WWE Shop. Which you can see a screenshot of below.
According to a report from @WrestleVotes on Twitter/X, WWE ran into trademark issues when the company attempted to trademark the term “Yeet” for merchandising purposes. Thus, the word will no longer be associated with Jey Uso.
“As evident on RAW just now, I’m told WWE has found trademark issues with Jey Uso’s “Yeet.” The word & merchandising will no longer be associated with Uso going forward.”

Apparently, an independent pro wrestler out of West Virginia, named Kasey Huffman, has actually owned the trademark rights for the word “Yeet” since 2021. You can see the filing for the term “Yeet” below.
