STARDOM announced today that two tournaments are set to return on January 3rd and will be held at the Yokohama Budokan.
The Triangle Derby, which will see trios teams competing, will be a one day tournament that will be competed under a single match elimination format. The winners of the Triangle Derby will earn an opportunity to challenge for the Artist of Stardom Championship currently held by Giulia, Mai Sakurai & Thekla.
There are 8 teams competing in The Triangle Derby and the first round matches on January 3rd are as follows:
- BariBariBombers (Giulia, Thekla, Mai Sakurai) vs. Miyu Amasaki, Lady C, Hina
- Utami Hayashishita, Saya Kamitani, AZM vs. Suzu Suzuki, Mei Seira, Megan Bayne
- Mayu Iwatani, Hanan, Saya Iida vs. Starlight Kid, Momo Watanabe, Natsuko Tora
- Abarenbo God’s Eye (Ami Sohrei, MIRAI, Syuri) vs. Rina, Ruaka, Fukigen Death
The 2nd tournament to return on January 3rd will be the Rookie of Stardom tournament. The last Rookie of Stardom tournament was held in 2019 with Saya Kamitani emerging victorious.
The 2024 Rookie of Stardom tournament will feature four rookies, Yuzuki, HANAKO, Rana Yagami and Sayaka Kurara in single elimination matches.
Here are the first round matches for the January 3rd 2024 Rookie of Stardom tournament:
- HANAKO vs. Sayaka Kurara
- Rana Yagami vs. Yuzuki
In addition to the two tournaments on January 3rd, there will be a special 8 woman tag team match that will see Hazuki, Nanae Takahashi, Yuu & Saki Kashima take on Maika, Mina Shirakawa, Saori Anou & Yuna Mizumori.
