All Japan Pro-Wrestling announced a new match for the upcoming #ajpwMANIAx event set to take place at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo on December 31st.
On December 21st, following Rei & Jun Saito’s victory over Yuma & Atsuki Aoyagi, Rei Saito called for a match with his brother Jun to determine who the true rookie of the year is. Tokyo Sports named both Jun & Rei Saito as the best newcomers for 2023.
AJPW made the match official for #ajpwMANIAx as it will be Rei Saito vs Jun Saito to determine who the best newcomer is between the two.
Jun Saito and Rei Saito met once before in a singles match back in 2021 which was won by Jun.
Jun & Rei Saito are the current AJPW World Tag Team Champions and GLEAT G Infinity Champions.

- Triple Crown Championship: Katsuhiko Nakajima (c) vs Kento Nakajima
- AJPW Jr Heavyweight Championship: El LIndaman (c) vs Jr Battle of Glory Winner Dan Tamura
- AJPW vs DDT Pro-Wrestling: Atsuki Aoyagi & Rising HAYATO (AJPW) vs. Yuki Ueno & Toy Kojima (DDT Pro-Wrestling)
- Shotaro Ashino Return Match: Shotaro Ashino & T-Hawk vs. Kuroshio TOKYO Japan and Seigo Tachibana
- Suwama, Hideki Suzuki & Hikaru Sato vs Minoru Suzuki, Davey Boy Smith Jr. & Hokuto Omori
- Rookie King Special Single Match: Jun Saito vs Rei Saito
- Black Mensore, Takuya Nomura & Fuminori Abe vs Minoru Tanaka, Naruki Doi & Koji Iwamoto
