Kenoh: Pro Wrestling NOAH Is Not NJPW’s Second Tier Promotion
Pro Wrestling NOAH GHC Heavyweight Champion Kenoh continues to voice his dissatisfaction with the upcoming NOAH “THE NEW YEAR” 2024 event On January 2nd. This show is always the biggest event of the year for NOAH.
First, Kenoh did not take to kindly that his GHC Heavyweight Title defense against Manabu Soya was not named the main event of NOAH “THE NEW YEAR” 2024 but instead that distinction went to Naomichi Marufuji vs. Kota Ibushi.
Second, Kenoh is not very happy about the amount of NJPW wrestlers that will be competing on NOAH “THE NEW YEAR” 2024. NJPW stars Zack Sabre Jr, Satoshi Kojima, Tomohiro Ishii, EVIL, Ren Narita, SHO, Yujiro Takahashi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Dick Togo will all be appearing in matches at NOAH’s biggest event.
Kenoh has stated in the past that his goal is to raise the level of Pro Wrestling NOAH without having to rely on the help of other promotions. He expressed his dissatisfaction:
The Noah vs Noah card is our only championship match. I don’t know what promotion’s card this is, but it’s like a card that is a new brand show for New Japan.
Kenoh
Kenoh seemed to put some blame on Kaito Kiyomiya as Kiyomiya is currently involved in a feud with NJPW’s faction House of Torture. House of Torture appeared at NOAH’s Star Navigation recently and attacked Kaito Kiyomiya and Ryohei Oiwa to which Kenoh made these comments:
Something strange happened here. Kiyomiya brought in an extra person again, and considering that there would be no pure Noah match, Kiyomiya bought in House of Torture to make himself stand out…Don’t you have any pride as Noah?”
Kenoh
Kenoh then directed his anger toward Pro Wrestling NOAH and commented on Manabu Soya:
Hey! Noah! We are not New Japan’s second tier promotion! Soya and I will have a match that says, “This is Pro Wrestling Noah.” Remember that well! Hasn’t Manabu Soya suddenly become less energetic since the title match was decided? Well, I’ll beat him up for not being energetic. Remember that well”
