Austin Aries No Longer Under Contract With IMPACT Wrestling
Austin Aries dropped the IMPACT Wrestling World Title last night to Johnny Impact in the main event of IMPACT’s Bound For Glory PPV.
Following the match there was a lot of controversy surrounding Aries, as he no sold Johnny Impact’s finisher then stormed out of the arena while yelling and flipping off IMPACT management Don Callis who was in the balcony.
We had also reported how an IMPACT Wrestling executive was apparently knocked down during the brawl which took place Saturday night during the IMPACT Hall of Fame Ceremony. It was said that some type of punishment could be laid down this week following the incident and the heat Aries was receiving backstage.
IMPACT Wrestling employee Petey Williams commented on last night’s incident at Bound for Glory on a new episode of our affiliate show, The Wrestling Perspective Podcast. Williams revealed that Aries is no longer under contract with IMPACT Wrestling and that his last contracted appearance was last night at Bound for Glory.
Regarding the Austin Aries situation, Petey Williams said:
“I’ll just say it straight up, right now. I don’t know if anyone has said it but that was — Austin Aries’ contract is done. I mean, that’s all I’ll say.”
During the interview Petey mentioned that last night at Bound For Glory was Aries “last match with IMPACT”. We will keep you updated when we hear more regarding Austin Aries and IMPACT wrestling.
