The third episode of Miz and Mrs. brings viewers to the halfway point of the first season. It is a big time for the Miz and Maryse, it is three weeks until WrestleMania, which is a crazy and hectic time for any WWE superstar but that’s not all that they have to worry about. Maryse who is becoming more and more pregnant by the day is due to give birth right around the time of WrestleMania, as if things could not get any more chaotic for both Miz and Maryse. With both important life events happening right around the corner both the Miz and Maryse continue getting themselves into crazy situations in the third episode, ‘Certified Super Dad.’
Eating for Two Equals the Price of Feeding Two
At the beginning of this episode Maryse is discussing the cravings that she has had during this pregnancy. Most people would crave something crazy, like pickles and ice cream, but not Maryse. Maryse does everything with class and style, which means her craving is something exotic, Maryse has been craving truffles during her pregnancy. The couple decides to go out for dinner and on the menu at this restaurant, they have truffle mac and cheese. Of course, Maryse gets it and while savoring every bite the Miz mocks her, going so far as to say that he has never seen her eat like this in the whole time he has known her. At the end of the night the bill arrives and the Miz, at this point being famously cheap when it comes to money, almost has a heart attack. His meal coast 45 dollars, where as the price of Maryse’s meal was 600 dollars.
Later, in the week, Maryse orders the same meal expect this time she has it delivered to the house. The Miz believes there must be a better and cheaper way to satisfy this craving for Maryse so in true Miz fashion, he does find a cheaper way to do it. The Miz buys Velveeta Mac and Cheese and truffles that come out of a jar to make Maryse the truffle mac and cheese dinner that she has been craving. At first the Miz is proud of himself and even Maryse looks impressed… that is until she tries it. She says it is good even though she thinks it’s awful and the Miz catches her feeding it to one of their dogs. By the end of the episode, the Miz gives in and surprises Maryse by getting her the real deal, the truffle mac and cheese from the restaurant they had went to earlier in the week, accept even this is met with an ironic twist. After going to the doctor, Maryse has been informed that she can’t eat the truffle mac and cheese anymore for the rest of her pregnancy.
Getting CPR Certified is …. AWWEESSOOMME
One part of becoming parents that expecting parents must take part in is getting CPR certified. However, when both expecting parents are WWE superstars it can be difficult to get them both in the same room to get CPR certified. The Miz is working all the time and because of this, Maryse goes to the CPR class with her Mom instead of with the Miz. Of course, she shows up late and to make matters even worse, her Mom falls asleep in the CPR class. When the Miz comes home from work, he is told that he missed the CPR class, that Maryse and her Mom went without him. He is upset by this. The Miz really wanted to go and does not want to miss anything regarding the birth of his daughter, including the preparation that comes with it. The subject of taking the CPR class is not brought up again until the end of the episode when the Miz tells Maryse that he has a surprise for her. It turns out that while on the road with WWE the Miz received his CPR certification right before a show. Not only that but to make the situation even better, he did it in his gear with his friend Dolph Ziggler, so they even have a certified babysitter when needed.
Good News Comes in Unexpected Circumstances
By the end of the episode, the Miz and Maryse are at the doctor’s office waiting to hear results on how Maryse and the baby are doing so far. The doctor informs both Maryse and the Miz that Maryse will need to have a C-section, due to back issues and the back surgery that she has had in the past. While this isn’t the news that they were exactly hoping for this does have a silver lining. C-Sections are scheduled, and this means that the Miz and Maryse can schedule the C-Section so that the Miz doesn’t miss WrestleMania or the birth of his first child. With this exciting news, it seems as if everything is going to be going according to plan for both Maryse and the Miz, but life is something that cannot simply be mapped out and scheduled, as both the Miz and Maryse are about to find out in the second half of the first season of Miz and Mrs. so stay tuned to see what happens next, I know I will be.
