The Kazuchika Okada to WWE rumors appear to just be rumors…at the moment.
According to Fightful Select, New Japan Pro Wrestling star, Kazuchika Okada is still in the early stages of his decision on where to sign following his departure of NJPW.
While rumors swirled on Tuesday morning about Okada heading to WWE, and even initially joining the NXT brand, it appears as while WWE are still very much in the race, AEW is firmly still in the mix.
“One WWE higher up said ‘that would be news to us at this point,’ and multiple sources on the NXT staff said they’ve heard nothing of the sort at this point. In addition, numerous people that Fightful has talked to within AEW believed they’re very much in the running to land Kazuchika Okada.”

Last week, NJPW and Okada released a joint statement to announce that the seven-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion would be leaving the company upon the expiration of his deal on Wednesday, January 31.
