Former WWE Superstar Melina (Perez) posted some very personal information regarding her past, including experiences with rape and sexual assault this weekend on her social media accounts. The former WWE Superstar shared with her fans that after being “raped, grabbed and cornered” that she had experienced thoughts of suicide.
What originally started the former WWE Superstar’s confession online was comments made by actor Matt Damon, where he discussed his viewpoint of perceived differences in different types of situations involving sexual misconduct, and the actor’s belief that not all of these situations should be handled or treated the same.
Saturday afternoon Melina posted a message on twitter saying, “Been raped, been grabbed, been cornered and told things that a guy wants to do to me even though I told him to stop. ll unwanted. All made me feel helpless, uncomfortable & scared of what’s going to happen next. Different levels but ALL WRONG regardless.”

Melina the followed up her twitter comments with a much lengthier and detailed explanation clarifying statements on her facebook page.
“Granted being cornered to get harassed & being grabbed didn’t lead me to want to commit suicide like rape did but all were life altering. All made me feel like I had no power, I wasn’t safe, I had no value and I wasn’t a human being. That I was simply a thing. My worth, my purpose, my existence altered. If I say anything I’m a liar, exaggerating or looking for attention. So many suffer this helplessness in silence. Which I did for years.”
