Moments ago, TNA Wrestling took to their social media Twitter account to reveal that they’ve officially extended the contract of Josh Alexander.
Alexander had previously signed a multi-year contract in March of 2022. The exact details weren’t known. Josh Alexander suffered a torn triceps injury in March of 2023 and returned just a few months later.
Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso has more on the story:
“Terms of the contract were not disclosed. Contacts within the company have confirmed it runs for the next year.”
On Scott D’Amore’s departure and the new Anthem Sports management steering the ship, here’s what Josh had to say:
“I have so much respect for Scott,” said Alexander. “Working with him over the last five years, and seeing the way he operates, he is the ultimate leader. I’ve tried to take pieces of that in the way I give advice to people. My goal is to lead by example. We have a locker room of like-minded people and we all have a chip on our shoulder. Those shows in Vegas [Hard To Kill and Snake Eyes] were so successful, and it’s tough to say we can be even more successful than we were under Scott, but I’m going to bust my ass trying.”
“I’ve worked so hard to be in this position. At the end of this contract, I’ll have been with TNA for six years. We’ll see how this year goes. With new management coming in, things are going to be changing. I just hope it continues to be an amazing place. Right now, I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else.”
Josh is the longest reigning TNA champion of all time and is currently set to take on Simon Gotch at the LIVE No Surrender PLE this Friday, February 23rd.
