AJ Styles Says He Needs To Win The WWE Championship One More Time Before Thinking About Retirement

AJ Styles just wants one more shot at being the WWE Champion.

During his run in the WWE, Styles has won the world championship twice. In his first reign, he defeated Dean Ambrose (Now known as Jon Moxley) at Backlash in 2016. In his second reign, he defeated Jinder Mahal on the November 7 episode of SmackDown Live in 2017 to win the WWE Championship.

Styles says he needs one more reign before he decides to call it a career and officially hang up the boots of an illustrious career that first began in 1998.

“I need that championship one more time before I call it quits,” Styles said on AfterWords with Johnjay & Rich.

The last time Styles competed for the world championship was at this year’s Royal Rumble where he was unsuccessful against Roman Reigns in a match that also included Randy Orton and LA Knight.
